Nestled on the banks of the scenic Finley River, the city of Ozark offers a small town feel with all the amenities of being in a metropolitan area. The historic downtown square is "postcard picture perfect" as local officials have strived to maintain a small town charm while embracing the modern conveniences sought by residents. Downtown is also home to Spring Creek Antiques and Tea Room famous for it's chicken salad sandwiches and cheesecake! A short walk down the hill you'll find the historic Finley River Grist Mill and Bridge where the Ozarks Arts and Crafts Festival is held each fall attracting thousands of shoppers. The City of Ozark is also home to Ozarks Technical Community College Richwood Valley Campus where nearly 1,500 students are enrolled seeking a college diploma. The highly desirable Ozark School District is also an A+ ranked district with state recognition in academics and athletics. Other highlights of this community include Lambert's Cafe, home of the famous throwed rolls and Stained Glass Theatre, featuring live performances with Christian themes. It's easy to see why Christian County has been the fastest growing county in the state for the last two decades and was named Healthiest County in the state of Missouri in 2012! In addition, Ozark made Angie's List as the home of over twenty unique furniture makers! Ozark was the scene of much activity during the Civil War on both Union and Confederate sides. Smallin Cave, located just north of town, was the first documented in the Ozarks, depicted at great length in Henry Rowe Schoolcraft's 1818 journal. Today, the cave is open for tours and contains evidence that site was used for war related activities.
